Last night we went down to Rosalie to meet Jeremy and Kerrie for dinner and as we waited we mucked around with timer photos. It’s a nice one of Dee I think.
Hills define our neighbourhood, and this badboy on our shortcut to Rosalie is intense!
It always weirds me out that that centre strip is astro-turf. Bizarre.
Today I did another solo ride — this time out to Springfield Lakes, then down this awesome stretch of highway to Ripley and back again. And although it was only 100ks and about 900m of climbing, I suffered at the end. It didn’t help that this kid blasted past me on the western freeway at about 85kms in and I just had to catchup to him and demonstrate some skillz.
There’s a bit of variety on this ride — the numerous Correctional Facilities you pass for instance
A break at Springfield Lakes
It was a bit lonely out there on that highway. Sometimes when you ride by yourself in more remote locations and your brain is tired and fuzzy from dehydration — you can get a bit, well, scared in an “isolated” kinda way. Hard to explain.
Then I went to my sister’s new house in Paddington (her family has just moved up here from Melbourne) and this is my nephew Hugo showing me his climbing tree.
My sister, Dee, Hugo and I then went over to Imogen’s Art Space in Bardon for a fundraiser. I can’t wait to take Hugo here for some art lessons!
